How To Deal With The Terrible Twos

By Clinton Kindell

If you're looking over this article then you have a child who's going through the terrible twos, and you really can't appear to handle it easily. This is a time in your child's life where he or she is going to be fairly cranky and very difficult to cope with. So you're going to need to get through this in some way, and I'd like to give you some ideas in order that this transition goes as easily as possible. So let's check out a number of these things right now.

One of many reasons why the terrible twos are so terrible is really because your child is trying to communicate with you, but since they do not know how to properly talk, they get very annoyed because they have a hard time expressing themselves.

That's exactly why you need to respond to your child regardless of what happens when they're trying to communicate with you, and do your best to try and find out what they were saying because this will make their discouraged responses far more civil.

It's very important that you communicate correctly with your own child at this specific time in their life. Communication is extremely important to your child's understanding, and whenever they are communicating with you, and you have no idea what they are attempting to tell you, you could always get them and tell them to point to what precisely they are attempting to make you understand. Maybe they want you to have them a drink, and you aren't figuring it out. So bring them to the fridge and allow them to point to the drink they would love you to have.

Just be sure you let your child know the limitations, because they are going to want to touch items that they shouldn't fiddle with. Like knives and fine China and other essential things that they have to keep their hands off of. You are going to have no recourse yet to handle the tantrums at this point, but if you limit it to these situations then it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
